There is more exciting news! Due to the many registrations this year, we are proud to announce that for the first time there will be a winter edition of the Venture Challenge. The teams that will participate have already been selected. The winner of the Venture Challenge Winter will be awarded during Innovation for Health2025.
The LifeSciences@Work Venture Challenge helps researchers in the life sciences to turn their research into a viable product or service that helps patients, physicians or other researchers. It is a 10-week programme to develop an initial idea – a breakthrough research result – into a solid business case.
Participants learn to build a customer value proposition, identify key risks and assumptions, develop a validation and de-risking strategy, build and pitch a Venture Plan and get connected to Life Sciences experts, investors and seasoned entrepreneurs.
The Venture Challenge offers life sciences researchers the opportunity to develop the business cases needed to raise money to develop their ideas further, enabling them to reach the market and patients. A personal contribution is asked and the prize money for the winner is 25.000 euro to be invested in the company. Since 2008, more than 200 teams have been supported by LS@W, most of which have successfully started a biotech or medtech company. Together, these companies have raised more than EUR 850 million in investments. The Venture Challenge is recognized internationally as it has reached the finals of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2022.
